Zain Sudan HQ Façade Redesign & Rehab Work

Recently, Zain expressed their need for rebranding their presence, by re-emphasizing their position in the Sudanese telecom market. Reflecting their brand and vision to the society through their existing building’s façade, was the main objective of this façade revamp project. The project’s scope included existing site planning improvement, landscape design and parking planning and solutions.

The existing building has been used by Zain Sudan Telecom Company, as their head quarter in Khartoum, Sudan; for many years. It is a high-rise building consisting of eleven floors with a total height of 38.65 m.

Tekno’s role was to redesign the facade bearing in mind client’s requests, needs and wishes. The building’s situation was studied from engineering, structural architectural, cost effectiveness, aesthetics and environmental aspects.

Tekno’s vision was conducted by adding a light building skin that enhanced the geometry of the building and its indoor environment, increasing the comfort of the users by adding light aluminum screens creating sheds, for protection against direct sun rays without blocking the view or air flow; and through reduced heat loads as well. The existing glass surface in the form of windows was replaced by new openings within glass curtain walls added to the building.
